Where do I get a claim number?
Your claim number is typically issued by the insurance company at the time you report your accident. Write it down and have it handy when you bring your vehicle in for repairs. We will handle the rest.
What is a direct repair facility?
A direct repair facility is a body shop that works directly with your insurance company as a preferred shop. Many insurance companies will lead you to believe that you will be better served by taking your vehicle to one of their preferred shops. They will use common intimidation tactics to get you to take your vehicle to one of their D.R.P. shops. Remember who these shops work for and who’s best interest they have in mind.
Are you open Saturdays?
Yes, we are open Monday-Friday 9:00am to 6:00pm and Saturday 10am-3:30pm.
If My Vehicle's Frame is Damaged, Is It a Total Loss?
A car is considered a total loss only when the price of repairs exceeds the insurance companies determined value of your vehicle. Only the insurance companies can decide if your vehicle is a total loss or not.
Can I Get Other Service Work Done On My Vehicle While it is in the Body Shop?
Yes. Just let us know what other services you would like done while we have your vehicle, so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
How long will repairs on my vehicle take?
Repair times can vary from vehicle to vehicle. Many factors go into the length of time you can expect your car to be repaired. Foreign or specialty cars may take longer because parts are harder to find. The extent of your damage will impact how long it takes for your car to be fixed. Remember that an estimate is just that. Your car may end up being repaired much more quickly than first expected, but you should also be prepared to wait longer.
Can I Get a Ride Home When I Drop Off My Car?
Yes, we would be happy to offer a free uber rides to your desired destination as a courtesy for your patronage.
How can I get a rental car?
We use Enterprise Rent-A-Car if you need a rental car, we can help you make the necessary arrangements. Enterprise offers free pickup at at our location. Insurance companies will only pay for a rental car if you have that option on your policy. Check your policy call your insurance company to find out if you have rental coverage and what your policys specific limitations are.
How much is my deductible?
The amount of deductible that you will be responsible for is determined by your insurance policy. If you were not at fault, and you are a claimant on a 3rd party insurance claim you do NOT owe a deductible. Insurance companies determine fault by your account of the accident when you make the claim, and by reviewing the accident report filed with the police department. If you aren’t sure about your deductible, you can call us and we can tell you whether your insurance company has waived your deductible or whether you will be responsible to pay this when you pick up your vehicle.
Who do I pay my deductible to?
If your deductible is not waived, it will be your responsibility to pay Mawi Auto when you pick up your vehicle. If you aren’t sure about your deductible, you can call us and we can tell you if your deductible is waived or whether it will be your responsibility.
What is deductible assistance and how does it work?
Deductible assistance is available to most at fault parties filing a first party claim. Mawi Auto will waive up to the first $500 of your deductible as a courtesy to our customers.
What are betterment charges?
Parts that wear out and need replacement with time and use (i.e., tires, batteries, and suspension parts) are commonly subject to betterment charges when they are replaced during the repair process. These betterment charges are determined by your insurance company and are pro-rated based on actual miles on your vehicle.
